Director, Consultant, and Student in Northern California, United States
I spent 37 years inside California's correctional system. I came in from the Marine Corps as a Group Supervisor at the California Youth Authority, and I learned fast that the people who hold the keys carry weight nobody sees.
That lesson has driven my work ever since. I've negotiated contracts, led CCPOA's legislative and governmental affairs work, and now serve as its Director of Correctional Health, building and identifying health support for the officers who hold the line. I founded INTERO so that support doesn't stop at retirement.
I also serve on the boards of Desert Waters Correctional Outreach and BYLP, and host Reason55 with StephB, where people share stories that rarely get told. My next project, Generation to Generation (G2G), is coming soon.
My conviction: perspectives, like prescriptions, deserve regular review. Systems change when people are willing to talk straight with each other.
Work with me. I help organizations look closely at how their systems treat the people inside them, starting with staff, and build reforms that actually hold.
